OUR EXPERIENCE IN THE TC «UNGOVERNABLE?»
Zafeiris’ experience:
Three months ago I had the opportunity to attend a Training Course, funded by Erasmus+ and taking place in Sweden, that was trying to provide us with tools and know-how on how to found and run an NGO. The activity gathered around 25 young people living in eight countries: Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, Romania, Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland and Sweden.
One of the things I noticed from the beginning was the diverse profile of the participants. All of us were active in our communities or universities; some were volunteers in student unions, employees in NGOs or thinking of managing their own organization. Having people from different civil society environments, countries and careers is always an opportunity to learn more about the topic you are dealing with and to see different channels that it can apply.
Talking about the program itself, it was an intensive training of seven days, split in different educational thematic parts. While the first days we were trying to learn each other better, to understand more about our working environments, our problems and plans, the next days we managed to build 5 hypothetical NGOs from zero, dealing with real problems of 5 cities in Sweden.
To do this, the non-formal methodology we followed involved splitting into different groups per stage, choosing a community, analyzing the outer environment, the needs and the resources it can provide. It also included setting up a clear vision and mission for our NGO, S.M.A.R.T. goals and searching for funding options. The program also included a productive studying visit to an NGO in a nearby region.
Talking about my personal gains, it was the first time I received a full-scale training on how to found an NGO and dealing with the challenges in its first stages. Although we did not have much time to understand the concept of risk management, the activities we were participating gave us enough skills to understand the difficulties but also the options we have to make an NGO sustainable and thus have a positing impact in our society. All in all, I keep from this training seven very productive days that shaped me with a better insight of how it is to establish an NGO as an important stakeholder of change in the community.
Elena’s experience:
The end of May I had the chance to participate at a training course named “UNGovernable?” conducted by the NGO “Ungdomsfronten”. I spent 9 amazing days in Limmared with people from Greece, Sweden, Chez Republic, Poland, North Macedonia, Romania, Croatia and Italy where each of us had the opportunity not only to learn but also to share their experience. Starting from the basics of how the situation is regarding the NGOs in our countries to how to actually create a promising plan for your own Erasmus+ project.
The project was structured in a very innovative way, where multiple non formal educational methods were applied. This led to a more experiential way of learning and a more long lasting one. The workshops focused on different topics each time, enhancing our field of expertise. The tools I gained from this project, ie Need Analysis, Vision-Mission plan, Smart Plan etc, are resourceful and can be applied to every situation in my everyday life.
Nevertheless, each night there was an intercultural night and each country presented its traditional food, customs and history. In this way, we were able to dive deeper into the concept of “unity in diversity” and broaden our horizons.
To put it in a nutshell, this project fulfilled all my expectations to the fullest! I vehemently encourage you to take part in Erasmus+ projects coordinated by CET Platform since all of their partnerships are promising.
Eleni’s experience:
Κυριακή 26 Μαΐου 2019. Η μέρα που ξεκίνησε μια πολύ όμορφη εμπειρία στη βόρεια Ευρώπη, συγκεριμένα στο Limmared της Σουηδίας. Τα μέλη της Ελληνικής ομάδας (Ελένη, Ζαφείρης, Έλενα) συναντηθήκαμε για πρώτη φορά εκεί, γνωρίζοντας ακόμη 20 youthworkers από 7 χώρες.
Οι 2 πρώτες μέρες του προγράμματος ξεκίνησαν με παιχνίδια γνωριμίας, ώστε να νιώσουμε περισσότερο οικείοι μεταξύ μας, αν και από την πρώτη στιγμή το κλίμα ήταν πολύ φιλικό και ευχάριστο με όλα τα μέλη της ομάδας.
Τις επόμενες μέρες ασχοληθήκαμε με την θεματική του προγράμματος ,τo οποίo αποσκοπούσε σε μια βαθύτερη κατανόηση του τρόπου λειτουργίας των μη κυβερνητικών οργανώσεων (NGO) . Οι περισσότεροι από τους συμμετέχοντες ήμασταν εθελοντές σε κάποια NGO και έτσι μπορούσαμε να μοιραστούμε τις εμπειρίες μας, τους προβληματισμούς μας, καθώς και χρήσιμα tipsπου μπορούν να ακολουθήσουν και οι άλλοι ώστε να κάνουν πιο αποτελεσματική και αναγνωρίσιμη την δουλειά τους.
Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο, κάναμε workshops σχετικά με τη διαχείριση χρόνου και πόρων, μιλήσαμε για σχεδιασμό επιτυχημένων εκδηλώσεων καθώς και διαχωρισμό αρμοδιοτήτων σε μια ομάδα. Όλα αυτά βέβαια, έγιναν μέσα από μεθόδους μη-τυπικής μάθησης και παιχνίδια.
Τέλος, μοιραστήκαμε τις ιδέες μας για μελλοντικά projects που θέλουμε να υλοποιήσουμε και συνειδητοποιήσαμε πως μέσω των γνωριμιών που κάναμε σε αυτό το πρόγραμμα και των όμορφων στιγμών που περάσαμε μαζί, είναι πια πολύ εύκολο να συνεργαστούμε για να φτιάξουμε κάτι δικό μας.
Αφήνω για το τέλος τρία πράγματα που μου έκαναν εξαιρετικά θετική εντύπωση και θα έρχονται συνειρμικά στο μυαλό μου κάθε φορά που κάποιος με ρωτάει για το πρόγραμμα στη Σουηδία.
1. Οι γνωριμίες που έκανα. Προσωπικά, σε αυτό το πρόγραμμα έκανα μια πραγματική φίλη, την Πολωνή συγκάτοικο μου με την οποία ακόμα κρατάμε επαφή και μάλιστα θα με επισκεφτεί τον επόμενο μήνα.
2. Τα energizers και τα παιχνίδια που παίξαμε. Κατά τη διάρκεια τους γελούσαμε με την ψυχή μας και ήταν πραγματικά ο καλύτερος τρόπος για να ξεκινήσει και να τελειώσει η μέρα μας.
3. Το πάθος και η αποδοτικότητα των εκπαιδευτών. Ο Fabio και ο Andrea είχαν απίστευτη όρεξη να κινητοποιήσουν την ομάδα να κάνει πράγματα και μάλιστα περνούσαν αρκετό χρόνο με όλους τους συμμετέχοντες με αποτέλεσμα να γίνουμε όλοι μια παρέα.
