From 25th of October until 2nd of November, 24 youth workers from Italy, Poland, Greece, Croatia, Georgia and Armenia gathered in Trikala, Greece for the Erasmus+ Training Course “Inclusion & Diversity Backpack”.
From the moment we arrived, the energy was contagious, and we were ready to dive in, since Day 1. Day 2 kicked off with icebreakers and team-building activities that helped us get comfortable and start forming bonds. We worked on common definitions and signed our learning agreements, setting the stage for what was to come. Day 3 explored “National Realities,” which opened our eyes to the different challenges and experiences we each bring from our countries. The sessions on discrimination and the roots of exclusion were intense but crucial. Day 4 introduced us to theatrical methods for inclusion, a fun and creative way to tackle serious issues, followed by language animation, which added a lively twist to our discussions.

Day 5 brought an enriching cultural visit that gave us a break from the sessions and a deeper appreciation for Trikala. By Day 6, we were back at it with sessions on gamification and how games can be powerful tools for youth work and inclusion. Day 7’s focus on RPGs and escape rooms showed us just how interactive and engaging these methods could be in teaching and community work. Day 8 was all about wrapping up, reflecting on what we had learned, and preparing for what comes next. We developed action plans and shared project ideas, ensuring that this experience wouldn’t end when we left Trikala.

I feel really grateful for this Training Course! This week in Trikala has been an unforgettable experience filled with impactful sessions, collaboration and cultural exchange. Thank you Ritsa and Paraskevi for being there and supporting us through all this!
